Welcome!
I am Laura Porter Soares, a credentialed, experienced instructional designer who specializes in technical, systems, and performance learning solutions. I design, develop, and implement comprehensive learning solutions using proven strategies, concepts, and best practices based on the neuroscience of learning. eLearning
I design and develop eLearning using the most popular applications, including Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise 360, and Adobe Captivate. I most frequently complete narration and audio editing in Audacity.
Video
I design and develop instructional videos using popular applications, including Camtasia, Doodly, Vyond, and Videoscribe. As stated above, I often use Audacity to record narration and edit audio.
Instructor Led Training
I design and develop instructor led and virtual instructor led learning solutions regularly. In one instance, I virtually designed, developed and delivered training to a class of 993 remote learners on how to use Cisco Webex.
Job Aids & Infographics
I create job aids in Word or PowerPoint, then save them as PDFs. For infographics, I most often use applications such as Canva, Venngage, and Piktochart.
Writing
I worked as a writer and editor for many years before moving into instructional design. My writing credits include research and business white papers, scripts, and an award-winning cookbook.
Graphic Design
As an instructional designer, I frequently am responsible for creating the look and feel of learning experiences. As such, I remain up to date with graphic design trends and have done graphic design projects for clients when requested.
